WorkNet Training & Publications, Inc. is an international Career Development consulting company specializing in assisting the difficult-to-place. They offer curriculum development, program analysis, program design, organizational consultation, staff training, and community seminars. They are best known for their innovative techniques for introducing Career Development to a population many believe are unemployable, and for their highly acclaimed book, No One Is Unemployable: Creative Solutions for Overcoming Barriers to Employment.  Richard Bolles, author of ‘What Color Is Your Parachute’, and Howard Figler, author of ‘The Complete Job Seekers Handbooks’, dubbed it “the handbook for the welfare to work movement” in their joint book, ‘The Career Developer’s Handbook’.

DEBRA L. ANGEL, PRESIDENT
Debra has been involved in developing innovative programs to address poverty and homeless issues for over 20 years. Richard Bolles named her as one of “six thinkers who have had the most influence on me, over the years”. She has received both local and national awards for her efforts on behalf of the homeless and poor including: being selected as one of a handful of international trainers to present a Professional Development Institute at the International Career Developers Conference, Outstanding Contribution to the Field by the International Job Search Trainers association, National Customer Service Award, presented by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, Outstanding Young Woman, presented by the United Nations National Council of Women – USA, and Ten Outstanding Young Americans, presented by the National Jaycees.

In an effort to better meet the needs of the poor and homeless, Ms. Angel developed the WorkNet Model of Career Development & Job Placement.  For 8 years she ran a direct-service program that produced phenomenal success rates for job placement (86%), job retention (64% at 1 year) and career advancement (28% within 1 year) among these difficult-to-place populations. Today, she and her staff devote their time to assisting organizations throughout North America, Australia, New Zealand, and United Kingdom to develop effective Career Development/Job Placement programs for individuals with barriers to employment. Debra is a co-author of the book, No One Is Unemployable: Creative Solutions for Overcoming Barriers to employment, which was named a Top Ten Career Book of the Year by the Los Angeles Times newspaper. She is a sought-after keynote speaker, workshop presenter, staff trainer, and consultant in the United States and abroad.  She has been a guest expert on several news shows and talk shows such as The Leeza Show and Good Morning Australia.

Debra has also developed several shelter programs, numerous emergency service, youth programs and holiday programs for the Salvation Army. Angel spear-headed the writing and lobbying of the first Homeless Assistance Bill funded in the state of Nevada.  She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication and Psychology with a minor in biblical Studies from Azusa Pacific from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California.
